Bernadette may only have a few nubby teeth, but she sure knows how to put them to work when treats are involved!
This 4-year-old sweetheart was rescued as a skinny, starving stray, and ever since then she hasn’t passed up a single snack opportunity. Food is her love language, and she’s laser-focused when it comes to mealtime. Bernadette’s got the sweetest smile, complete with her adorable nubby teeth and a silly underbite that makes her even more unforgettable.
She’s also a total lovebug; great with people and always soaking up attention from anyone willing to give it. On outings with staff, Bernadette is a total star, she rides beautifully in the car, enjoys her walks and hikes, and isn’t phased one bit by bikes or people passing by. She’s simply happiest outside, basking in the sunshine and living her best life.
Now she’s ready for a forever home where she’ll never have to worry about going hungry again and where she can keep showing off that goofy grin.

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
