At 6 years old, Ivy’s story began when she was found tied to a fence by one of our dedicated AHS animal protection officers. But despite her rough start, Ivy shines like a golden ray of sunshine, her beautiful coat matching her bright and hopeful spirit. She’s sweet, loving, and always ready to trade kisses for treats! In our care, Ivy has shown signs of being house trained, knows a few basic commands, and is constantly seeking love and affection from everyone she meets. Now, she’s ready for the forever family she truly deserves.

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
