My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jelme
Age: 6 months
Sex: Spayed Female
Breed: Mixed
Color: White
Weight: 15 kg | Height: 50 cm

Rescue Story
Jelme was rescued from a city shelter. She’s still a young pup discovering the world — curious, gentle, and learning new things every day

Personality & Socialization
Jelme is a little shy at first, but once you offer her a treat she’ll start trusting you. She prefers being touched after she gets to know you, but once she opens up, she’ll roll over to show her belly and let you hold her with arms under her tummy.

She’s calm and quiet — rarely barks, and tends to avoid conflict even if another dog provokes her. Sudden noises or fast movements can still startle her, but she’s learning to feel more confident each day

With Other Dogs & Animals
She’s friendly when meeting other dogs but prefers calm playmates similar in size. Large or high-energy dogs can make her a bit nervous, while she’s very sweet and comfortable around smaller or similar-sized friends.
She feels safer when there’s another dog nearby and shows better stability in a multi-dog home
She gets excited when she sees cats outside and tries to chase them — still a curious puppy!

At Home & Outdoors
Jelme loves outdoor adventures — she enjoys walks, exploring new scents, and feeling the breeze on her face
She goes out twice a day and is learning to do her potty outside (also pad-trained indoors). At home, she’s playful with toys or quietly rests by your side. She can hop in and out of the car by herself, though she whines a little when first placed in a kennel.

Ideal Home
Jelme would thrive with a family that enjoys outdoor time and moves at her pace — gentle, patient, and loving. Once she feels safe, she’ll always be right by your side, showing her belly and her sweet smile

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
