Meet Guapa! This adorable nugget is guessed to be about 8 years old and weighs 4.8 lbs. She is a wonderful little girl who likes attention from her person and enjoys sitting in your lap.
She gets along with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. She does well with potty habits - she uses pads and will go outside. She can be a little reserved at first with new people, but warms up fairly quickly.
Not uncommon for her breed, Guapa has a grade III heart murmur. She had an echocardiogram, which showed severe mitral valve regurgitation and vets have prescribed her pimobendin and enalapril, which costs about $75 month. She will need routine monitoring by a cardiologist, so potential adopters need to be prepared for this expense and level of care.
Guapa's adoption donation of $475 helps cover the cost of her echocardiogram, vaccines, spay, dental, xrays, heartworm and tick disease testing, and microchip.
Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks, vet checks, and home visits required. We do not do same-day adoptions. Step 3: A Perfect Pooches adoption coordinator will contact you to review your application and perform an interview.
Step 4: Based on available animals and application/interview, an adoption coordinator will try and match you with your perfect pooch.
Step 5: The next step may include a home visit, meet and greet with family members and existing pets, etc.
Step 6: If a match is made the adoption will be finalized, which includes signing of an adoption contract.
