Meet Mildred! She came to us from Animal Rescue Corps (Operation Tiny Titans) after they rescued her from a hoarding situation. She was in pretty rough shape- very emaciated, furless from flea bite dermatitis, and muscles wasted. Her fur has started growing in nicely and she is becoming more and more mobile as the days go on. She started her healing journey with us, but we think she is ready to move forward to her next chapter- healing in a home of her very own where she will get spoiled rotten and slathered with love. Mildred has started seeking out more attention from people. She was kind of withdrawn when she first arrived, but she is coming out of her shell and learning what it means to be loved and cuddled.
Mildred is guesstimated to be around 15 years old, but the age estimate isn’t an exact science and with the condition she was in it makes it even more difficult. She weighs under 4 lbs, but she is still underweight. Mildred still needs to be spayed and have a dental, but we have not felt she is at the ideal body condition for surgery. Her mobility isn’t fantastic, but she is able to get around pretty well. She is on a daily dose of gabapentin, which has definitely helped with her mobility. She loves her time sniffing and exploring in the yard (weather permitting). She does well going to the bathroom outside but will also go inside – sometimes on the pads and sometimes not.
We are looking for an amazing retirement home for her without much commotion and with another small dog that can keep her company. Her and Eliza (another dog from the same home we got) like to cuddle in bed together. While we don’t believe they are bonded, they definitely like the company of another dog. If you are open to 2 dog- we think Eliza and Mildred would do great together.
Mildred’s adoption donation of $250 helps cover the cost of her medical care. If you wish to adopt Mildred and Eliza together, their combined adoption fee will be reduced to $450.
Adopters must live within a 1 hour driving distance from Romeoville, IL. Reference checks, vet checks, and home visits required. We do not do same-day adoptions. Email us with any questions info@perfectpooches.org. The application to adopt can be found under the "Adoption Process" tab on our website www.perfectpooches.org.

More about this rescue
A rescue organization dedicated to helping you locate and adopt your "perfect" pooch.
No one, or nothing, is perfect....this includes dogs, but we firmly believe that there is a "perfect" dog for everyone. This doesn't mean our dogs will not have accidents in the house, or bark at times you don't want them to, or chew on your good shoes. They are dogs and they will require training and structure, but their flaws make them truly unique, beautiful, and "perfect" for the right family.
Perfect Pooches Adoption Agency (PPAA) is dedicated to working with each family to ensure we try to find a dog that will be a match with your lifestyle, needs, and wants. If we do not currently have a dog that is a match we will do our best to help approved adopters locate a dog that would be a better fit.
Our pooches are rescue dogs that deserve a second chance. Please consider opening your heart and home to a new companion today!
