My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/2 David update:
💙 Meet David 💙

David has spent 71 long days at the shelter alongside his buddy Kurt, and it’s time this good boy gets his turn to go home. He is 1 year old, housebroken, and a calm, cool, and collected fella.

I hung out with David all day, and the best word to describe him is chill. He’s the kind of dog who just exists nicely around people. Happy to greet anyone who comes in, but never jumpy or over-the-top. Just calm, friendly, and easy to be around.

Here’s what we love about David...💕
David is housebroken, good with other dogs, and already knows how to sit. He has a very relaxed, easygoing demeanor and is friendly with everyone he meets without being overwhelming or over-the-top. We also walked past cats and he showed no interest at all, which says a lot about how steady and calm he is.

David is that steady, easy companion so many people say they’re looking for. After 71 days of waiting, he’s more than ready to trade kennel life for a couch, a routine, and a family of his own.

Come meet David. He’s been patient long enough. 💙

🐾 Meet Kurt & David: Two Best Buds Starting Over 🐾

Kurt and David came to us after their previous owner fell on hard times, and while their story started a little rough, these two have taken it all in stride. They’re about 2 years old, around 40–45 pounds each, and full of playful, goofy energy.

We’re pretty sure they’re house-trained (bonus!) and they already know some manners. Kurt proudly shows off his “sit.” 🐶 When we let them out in the yard, they soaked up every second of attention and affection. Instead of running around, they mostly wanted to hang out with us. ❤️

They’ve been through a lot together, and you can tell they find comfort in each other, but both boys would blossom in homes where they can get love, attention, and maybe a few good walks a day.

If you’re looking for a loyal, happy friend (or two!), come meet Kurt and David. Their tails haven’t stopped wagging since they got here. 💕Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.

Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.

Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet.
Fees:
Dogs over 6 months old: $100
Puppies under 6 months: $200.
Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip).

For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Join us on Facebook at
