My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Aries

Aries is a 3-month-old, 14-pound (as of 10/25) Dutch Shepherd mix puppy with a big heart and even bigger potential! This bright, affectionate boy is all about playtime, learning, and cuddles — he’s the total package of smarts, sweetness, and shepherd energy.

Aries is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves everyone he meets — dogs, people, and even cats! He’s fallen right in with his foster pack and enjoys romping around with the resident dogs. He’s curious about the family cat (though the cat isn’t quite as eager to play back!). Aries is very food motivated, making training a breeze, and he’s already mastered “sit” while working on “off,” “paw,” “wait,” and “come.”

Like any puppy, Aries has a mischievous streak — he’s still learning where his paws, nose, and teeth belong — but he’s incredibly responsive to positive reinforcement and eager to please. He’s house trained, puppy pad trained, and doing great with leash training. He travels well, snoozes in the car, and loves a good squeaky toy or a game of fetch.

Though the noisy Brooklyn streets were a bit intimidating at first, Aries gets braver every day. He’s a total Velcro pup who loves being close to his person and isn’t a fan of being left alone yet, but he’s learning that he’s safe and loved.

Aries would thrive with an adopter who understands the intelligence, energy, and drive of working breeds. He’ll do best in a home that can provide him with plenty of physical activity and mental stimulation — a shepherd’s dream!

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and whip-smart companion who’s ready to grow into your best friend and adventure buddy, Ares might just be your perfect match.
