My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lion's Mane is an adorable male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 7, 2025 along with his four siblings (Button, Enoki, Matake and Toadstool) after they were found in Marietta Ohio. The kittens were estimated to have been 8-weeks old at that time.

This handsome little man has a brown/black tabby medium-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and the cutest kitten face with golden eyes which appear to be enhanced with cream-colored eyeliner, fantastic 'ear furnishings', a splash of white on his muzzle/chin, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

Lion's Mane was given vaccinations and wormer on August 27, 2025. He was given booster vaccines on September 12th and September 29th.

Lion's Mane and one of his brothers (Matake) are sharing a large cat tower with several other young kittens. His sister Enoki is currently sharing a double-wide cage in the Jungle Room (one of our adoptable cat rooms) with two of her new best friends (Portebello and Sir Topham). His brother Buttons is currently in foster care with a family who plans to adopt him after he is neutered. Sadly his brother Toadstool did not survive and passed away on October 10th 2025.

These 'big boy' pictures of Lion's Mane were taken on October 23, 2025 while he displayed his sweet personality and showed off his beautiful face and coat. Lion's Mane was a pleasure to spend time with and to photograph.

Lion's Mane will be neutered in the near future and will soon be ready to find a dream home of his very own either through adoption or rescue.

Lion's Mane was neutered on December 18, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 6 lbs that day.
