Hi, I’m Scar! I might sound like a tough guy with my name, but I promise I’m really just a softie at heart. Life’s been a bit of a rollercoaster lately. I was surrendered to the shelter when my previous family was evicted. It’s been a lot of change all at once, and I’m still finding my paws again. I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but if you give me some time (and maybe a few treats), I’ll start to show you my sweet, loyal side. Once I trust you, I’m all in with gentle tail wags, soft snuggles, and quiet companionship are kind of my thing. I lived with other dogs before and did well with them, though the busy shelter environment can be a bit overwhelming for me right now. I think I could share my future home with another friendly dog as long as we’re introduced slowly and properly. I’d love a calm, patient home with respectful children who understand that I might need a little space while I settle in. HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
