My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lexi Beech was surrendered to LA's Animal Care & Control's Baldwin Park Shelter by her owner for unknown reasons. Weighing just 31 lbs., Lexi is a petite pittie with a super sweet personality!

Lexi went on a month-long Frosted Fling and received lots of TLC in the comfort of a home while we learned a lot about her. Her foster mom shared this wonderful report:

"Lexi is a very cute grandma who is looking for soft beds, lots of treats, and butt scratches for her final years. I had her for a little over a month, and she was an easy addition to the household. She coexisted with multiple chill older dogs throughout her stay and was great with all people she met. She is deaf and almost blind, but don’t let that fool you- she’ll find you and food anywhere, anytime!!

Lexi is really excited and playful when I first come through the door. It’s very cute! She’s a very different dog than the shy, quiet one I picked up. Lexi makes the cutest noises when you rub her ears just right, loves a bedtime snuggle, and and knows the best begging poses.

Lexi didn’t seem to have much experience being on a leash. I got her a harness and she liked that better than the pressure on her neck. We worked on leash walking, and she was getting there! She will follow you anywhere if you have a treat, so that makes it easier. She doesn’t need much exercise at all.

Lexi loves her food. She does a very cute happy dance when you hold her bowl and will follow you anywhere while you hold it. I fed her separate from my dog because she will wander and check out other bowls. It's also best to give her high value treats like bones separately. We did a lot of treat enrichment like treat scatters, snuffle mats, lick mats, and box puzzles. Lexi loved them all! She would get cute zoomies every night after a bedtime treat.

Lexi is definitely ready for a forever family - come and get her!"
