Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The movie “Flicka” is a classic story about the relationship between a girl and a horse. Our sweet Flicka is definitely not a horse, but this pup would love to form a strong bond with a family of her own! Flicka is a day trip favorite who has been described as adventurous, energetic, loving, friendly and sweet:
“Flicka is very sweet and loving. She was very curious of the world around her. I hope she will find her forever home and a family to keep exploring with.”
“Flicka loves car rides, listens well, and is a very good dog.”
Here’s what staff and volunteers at the shelter have said:
“When I entered her kennel, Flicka was very happy and animated and was excited to get out to the park. She walked well on the leash and held her curly tail at a very jaunty angle the whole way. At one I gave her butt some scritches, and she started dancing! What a cute silly girl! She was very interested in other dogs out in the park, but was not reactive.”
“My first time meeting Flicka. She seemed very eager to go out and was easy to leash up. Outside she liked walking at a brisk pace with occasional stops for sniffing. At one point I stopped to pet her and discovered she loves booty scratches and she will do the cutest little dance when you start scratching her! It is adorable! She is a sweet, energetic girl and would probably do well with someone who can give her lots of playtime and exercise.”
“Flicka did a photo shoot with toys and did great. She met new people, including an adult man and a teenager, and was a little cautious at first but warmed up quickly, accepting pets from everyone and visiting with each of them in the room. Not super toy motivated but enjoyed dentastix. There was a dog in the yard who captured her attention but she just watched quietly. Super sweet girl! Very easy to leash/unleash/walk.”
Flicka has been playful and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup; a meet and greet with any resident dogs is always a great idea. If you’re prepared to give Flicka all the booty scritches she wants for life, ask to meet her today- no horse experience required!
