Meet Shay

This lively sweetheart is Shay — a 8-month-old female super mutt who is playful, bouncy, and full of personality! To define her super mutt status we believe she is a Husky / Shepherd mix who will weigh around 40 - 45 lbs as an adult. She loves to fetch, chase toys, and keep her people laughing with her silly antics. She’s expected to grow to around 50 pounds (best guess). a perfect mix of fun energy and cuddle-sized charm! ✨

A few things to know about Shay:

Shay can be shy and nervous around new people. If someone approaches her too quickly, she may growl or nip out of fear — but with patience, slow introductions, and reassurance, she warms up into a loyal, affectionate companion. Shay is still working on housetraining and will need structure, patience, and routine in her new home🐾💖

Shay adores other dogs and loves to play — her energy is high, so she does best with canine friends who can keep up!

Shay requires another playful dog in the home (she is very fond of other dogs and playing)! And a stockade-fenced back yard.

She is spayed, current on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $250.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please go to https://foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application/ and fill out an application! Then email ForeverYoursOKC@gmail.com to confirm

2.
Approve Application

This may take a couple days if completed online or during the event if completed in person.

3.
Interview

A rescue member will give you a call to give more info about the dog and make sure it will be a good fit. If so, then will plan a meeting.

4.
Meet the Pet

Then you get to meet the dog and have the dog meet all family members (including the furry ones) to see if you think the dog is a good fit.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Once all of the above is completed and you are approved. You will sign an adoption contract and pay a $225 adoption fee.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (FYDRadopt.com), a house check, and our adoption fee is $250.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue does not have a facility, all of our wonderful rescues are in foster homes with families that take care of them and love them until their forever homes come along.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue was founded on November 8th, 2011, with the mission of helping smaller animal shelters located throughout Oklahoma.

We are an Oklahoma City based all-breed 501(c) dog rescue, caring for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs of Oklahoma. We rescue from local shelters and shelters throughout Oklahoma. We do take owner surrender's under certain situations.

We advocate spay/neuter and offer assistance in finding a low-cost option for those that qualify.

We promote adoption as an alternative to buying your pet.
We provide pet ownership education through materials, counceling, and on-site workshops, at no cost to the public, with an emphasis on preventative care.

We are all volunteer based, with no paid employees.
