Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Natasha, a breathtaking Merle Aussie mix whose gentle spirit shines brighter every single day. 💛
When Natasha first arrived, she was heartbreakingly thin, her body showing the toll of many litters and far too little care. But even then—beneath the fear and uncertainty—there was a softness in her eyes, a quiet hope that someone might finally choose her.
Natasha is still learning that the world can be kind. She can be shy when meeting new people, but with patience, a calm voice, and a little time, she blossoms into the sweetest, most tender-hearted girl. Once she trusts you, she leans in softly, as if saying “thank you” with her whole being.
One thing that has helped Natasha immensely is the companionship of another dog. She LOVES having a canine friend by her side—someone to show her the ropes, help her feel safe, and remind her that joy is allowed.
Natasha is coming out of her shell more each day, but she’ll need a secure, fenced yard in her forever home as she continues to build confidence and rediscover the world at her own pace.
If you’re looking for a dog whose gratitude and love run deep… a dog who will bond with you in the most meaningful, heart-tugging way… a dog who just needs a chance to finally be someone’s beloved girl…
Natasha is waiting.
She has survived so much—now she just needs someone to show her what it means to truly live. 🩵

More about this rescue
A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
