Cat located in this city: Casselberry, FL
Cat’s Name: Ms. Kitty
Cat’s Age & Sex: Female & 13 yrs old
Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): Spayed, vaccinated (last vaccine/booster May 2025) & not microchipped.
Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Miss Kitty is a 13yr old Calico American shorthair. I got her when I was in college with my then boyfriend and have had her ever since. She has lived in households with other cats, but needs more time warming up to them.
She warms up to people quickly; she has never lived in a house with dogs or other animals before. She loves to nap, spend time out the patio and watch birds. She also loves affection, some play time and a good treat; she's very food motivated. Having her rehomed is a very hard decision for me. I love her and am grateful for all the unconditional love and time she has given me, but a household that can give her more attention and time is what I want best given my change in job, less time being home and my support system decreasing;
I'm not able to be home much at all with 2 jobs and I want her to enjoy her senior years in a household with more time, care and attention that she deserves. I’m looking for a loving, patient home for her. Where she can have plenty of company, care, attention and love.
Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Warms up to people quickly; takes some time with other cats but has not lived in a household with dogs though. Does not like to be picked up but likes to spend time with you and be in the same space as you and will come up to you for some love once she's comfortable. She is very vocal and will let you know when she wants something or some loving.
Any Supplies that go with the pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Any remaining food, the litter box, treats, toys, water fountain and any supplies can go with her.
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Mainly wet food with pumpkin mixed in; dry only on some occasions or can be mixed in with the wet. Read more below why cats need wet food.
:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).

IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1) Please show up with a cat carrier
2) Small adoption fee of: $35
3) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well
4) Please show up with your Driver's License.
5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine)
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this.
Thank you.
