Angelica Pickles was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter where only one staff member has been able to get close to her because of her fear aggression. She allowed one shelter worker to hold and groom her a bit, and took refuge under her desk most of the time.
We have no idea what traumatized a mere 10-month-old so, but we are willing to work her through it. She is in a foster home with other loving dogs who can show her that humans can be trusted, and that she does not have to live her life in fear. Angelica Pickles will need a patient, dog-savvy adopter with a quiet home, no small children and limited human visitors, at least at first!
Keep checking back here or on our Facebook page for updates. She is a black Shih Tzu, about 10-12 pounds.
WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs.
If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.
Adoption fee of $ covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue.
We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible.
Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
