My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4 Month Old Poptart is the quiet, snuggly little brother who has the softest puppy energy. He might be a little shy at first, but give him a few minutes of one on one love and he melts straight into your arms. He loves being held, loves attention, and definitely isn’t afraid to tell you (with a tiny, polite whine) when he wants more cuddles. He’s great at entertaining himself, mirror reflections are his personal playmates but his favorite place is always curled up against a human. Midday naps, afternoon playtime, and the happy little tail wag you get when you walk through the door are non-negotiables in his daily schedule. He chooses his own crate for bedtime because that’s where his bed already lives, and he truly doesn’t mind it at all, is working on his potty training and loves playing with his brother Toast. Our top three favorite things about him? He’s playful, cuddly, and outrageously cute!! The kind of puppy who makes you pause whatever you’re doing just to stare at his face. If you’re looking for the sweetest little best friend to spoil this holiday season, Poptart is ready to apply.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

The first step of the adoption process is to complete an adoption application in full at www.rescuecity.nyc. All of our dogs are in foster homes throughout the city. We do not have a physical location where we keep dogs.

More about this rescue

Rescue City is a no-kill, non-profit1 pet rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption organization. Our team of dedicated volunteers is based in Brooklyn, NY and serves the NYC metro and surrounding areas.

Our organization’s motto is: There’s a person for every dog, and there’s a dog for every person…it’s just a matter of time. This applies whether you are looking to adopt a pet, or would like to make a positive impact on the lives of animals. At Rescue City we believe it is our moral responsibility to defend the lives of abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.
We take on helpless stray and surrendered animals, as well as those at the top of the euthanasia list at local and international shelters. We place our rescues in nurturing foster homes while they rebuild their lives through physical and mental rehabilitation. Following a thorough – but hassle free – adoption process, our Rescues are placed in loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes. Every rescue is fully vetted and altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated upon adoption. Our commitment to our rescues does not stop once the adoption paperwork is signed. We stress the importance of responsible pet ownership, and we educate our Fosters, Adopters, and community on what it means to be a good pet owner.
