My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooby is a big 73 lb pup with a heart of gold who needs a rural/suburban setting and an experienced owner to be the best he can be.
At 1 year old, Scooby is definitely still a puppy
in many ways and learning new things every day. He's an oversized lap dog at heart who needs help with his excitability. A home with older, dog-savvy kids would be best for Scooby.

He is polite and respectful with dogs. He doesn't have the best leash manners but is picking things up quickly.

Continued socialization and training, and an adopter who can offer that, will be important for Scooby.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/
