Darla Mellie is a beautiful 10-year-old Standard Poodle whose soft grey curls and soulful eyes tell a story of quiet love and gentle patience. Weighing in at a perfectly elegant 41.12 pounds, Darla is the epitome of grace and good manners — a true lady in every sense of the word.
This senior sweetheart is fully potty trained and leash trained, making her a wonderfully easy companion for a peaceful household. Darla takes her time to observe and understand her surroundings, moving with the calm confidence that only comes from a lifetime of experience. One of her most charming habits is her politeness when it’s time for a walk — she’ll patiently wait inside her kennel until you clip on her leash before stepping out, ready for her next adventure.
Darla adores the outdoors, where she can take in all the smells, sights, and sounds around her. Whether it’s a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood or a quiet afternoon in the yard, she’s happiest with the wind in her curls and her human nearby. She does have some cloudy eyes that causes some sight issues and would do best in a one story home. Despite her love for nature, she’s just as content relaxing indoors, especially when there are head pets and gentle affection to be shared.
Though a little shy at first, Darla’s heart opens up once she feels safe and understood. Beneath her reserved nature is a deeply loyal and affectionate spirit who just wants to love and be loved in return. She’s respectful, calm, and endlessly sweet — the kind of companion who will quietly follow you from room to room, happy just to be part of your world.
Darla Mellie is looking for a family who will appreciate her tender heart and give her the loving, peaceful home she deserves for her golden years. She’s not just a dog — she’s a devoted friend, a serene soul, and a daily reminder of the beauty of patience and love.
✨ If you’re looking for a gentle, well-mannered, and deeply loving companion, Darla Mellie is ready to walk by your side — leash on, tail wagging, heart full. ✨

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
