What we know: Transferred from Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region with the name "Blue", not fixed, single male; part of a hoarder case with 33 dogs of various ages all likely related.
From the foster: Just like the character “Napoleon” in “Napoleon Dynamite” Mittens has skills!!!!
This 6.5 month 35 pound Pitbull/Foxhound mix skill’s include:
-expert cuddler (This amazing boy is a Velcro dog so if your love language is touch this pup is for you! He has a slight attachment style in the greatest way. His head, paw, body always has to touch you).
-smart and trainable (He learned “sit” , how to use the dog door, how to “kennel” ). He will need an owner that is dedicated to his training as this happy boy is so excited he jumps and still occasionally has accidents )
- friends to all (Mittens would do best in a house with another older dog to show him how to be an indoor dog/pet. He was around children, and other dogs this week) but doesn’t have experience with cats…yet)
- expert goofy, fun personality (This goofy guy is so cute, he hops around while he plays, and just has so much fun with toys, he has so much personality and an over all good vibe!)
- leash skills (This is still a work in progress but this boy loves walks, car rides, play dates, and pup cups!
- kisses and tail wagging skills (This boy has mastered how to show love and appreciation, it is so sweet the way he connects with humans.
Mittens was surrendered from a hoarding situation in CO with 33 dogs in and out of the house and dos not get much individual attention. He just really wants to become someone’s everything and in return he will be your loyal and loving companion for life!

Colorado Puppy Rescue is a 501(c)3 no-kill rescue for young puppies. We accept puppies from kill-shelters in southern CO, NM,TX, OK and KS. Most of our puppies are mixed mutts under 12 weeks old, some are as old as 6 months. We do not have a shelter. All of our puppies stay in foster homes so the only time they are available for adoption is at our adoption events. We average 20 puppies a week and update our website with available puppies Friday afternoons.
