Plum Frost may start off a little timid, but her soft tail wags show her gentle and trusting nature. She’s a very easy walker on the leash — tentative but engaged as she takes in all the new sights and sounds around her. After a little time, Plum Frost’s affectionate side begins to shine. She’ll give you a few sweet sniffs and even some kisses once she feels comfortable. She loves her belly rubs and will flop over and she is hard to resist! She is a total lovebug who loves when you kneel or sit down with her for all the pets.
Plum Frost knows “sit” and loves playing with stuffy toys. She appears to be house trained. At 5 years old and 51 pounds, Plum Frost is ready to find a calm, loving home where she can continue to build confidence and share her gentle heart.
Plum Frost spent a weekend with a volunteer, and we learned so much more about this sweet girl. She was a little unsure about hopping into the car, but she allowed the volunteer to gently lift her in—and once settled, she rode quietly while taking in the world around her. In the home, Plum Frost proved she is housetrained, crate trained, and an absolute fan of cozy dog beds. She’s also very food motivated, which makes building trust and teaching new skills even easier. She also was able to be left alone in a room and happily laid on her dog bed and proved to have good house manners not bothering anything that wasn’t hers.
She can still be shy in new places or when she hears loud noises, but even in those moments you can see how much she wants to be brave. And once she trusts you, she shows you her adorable little smile and happily rolls over for belly rubs—such a sweet reward from such a gentle soul. Plum Frost truly wants to trust, and with a patient, kind adopter, she’s going to blossom beautifully. This sweet girl just needs her safe, soft place to land. When meeting new people, Plum Frost appreciates going at her own pace so she doesn’t feel overwhelmed. With gentle patience and a calm environment, her confidence grows — and that’s when her tender, loving side shines through.

When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
