My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Storm! ☀️

Storm is an absolute sweetheart who’s ready to find her forever family! This gentle girl is calm, affectionate, and loves everyone she meets — dogs, kids, and adults alike. She’s currently living with other dogs and enjoys playing with them before curling up for a cozy nap.

Storm is crate-trained and sleeps quietly through the night, either in her crate or snuggled up with her family. She’s still working on her potty training but is making great progress — she’s smart, food-motivated, and eager to please!

She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys going for walks or light hikes, but she’s not overly active — she’s just as happy relaxing at home with her people. Storm has no resource guarding issues, doesn’t mind car rides, and has been around children ages 4 and up with no issues.

Bath time and nail trims aren’t her favorite activities, but she tolerates them well. She hasn’t shown any fears or anxiety and fits right in wherever she goes.

One of Storm’s cutest quirks? When you reach down to pet her, she’ll roll over like a cat for belly rubs — it’s absolutely adorable!

Storm would love a family who can continue her potty training and give her lots of love. She’s an easygoing, happy girl who will make a wonderful companion for just about anyone!

Additional adoption info

Peace Love and Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit, animal welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused animals. Peace Love and Paws Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering and microchipping prior to their adoption.

This questionnaire is designed to help Peace Love and Paws Rescue determine if a specific dog is the right match for you and your household. All adopting and fostering parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Peace Love and Paws Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption or fostering based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews prior to adoptions and placing foster homes!

More about this rescue

We are three passionate, animal loving dog moms who met through various volunteer efforts at local rescues in the Detroit area. We continued talking outside of volunteering and quickly came to realize that we all had similar goals, to help as many animals in need that we possibly could. In the Detroit area, there are so many animals who need homes, medical attention, and love.

We decided that we wanted to be able to do more to help these animals. We are raising funds through selling merchandise, fundraising, donations, and supporting local community events. All funds raised will be used to establish a nonprofit status, fund the medical needs of local dogs, and find shelter animals their furever home.

Follow us on our journey to create a rescue that provides animals the love and care they need while they find their home. We will post updates on our social media of the dogs we are able to help and how your support made a difference.
