My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Information: Zander is an estimated 11 month male sight hound  mix currently weighing approximately 30 lbs. He has shown to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more as he settles into the Seattle foster.

Foster Update:  Zander is such a sweet guy! He has bursts of energy and loves to play, but is also able to chill out and be calm indoors. He loves people and other dogs. He is interested in cats and might chase in a playful way if allowed. He's shown no agression, but dog savvy cats would be best. He loves to play fetch and has already mastered bringing the ball back! He is crate trained and quiet in his crate, even when left alone during the day. It doesn’t appear he’s spent much time on leash, so we are working on leash training and helping him not be spooked when out and about on leash. He is still a little nervous after his long trip from Hawaii, so a quiet neighborhood will likely be best for Zander at this point, but with a little time and patience, Zander will make a great adventure buddy for a lucky PNW family!

Foster update 2:  Just wanted to share some updates! Zander is definitely settling in and less scared--still easily startled by loud noises, but much more confident and that’s improving every day! He’s responded well to leash training and is leash manners have improved significantly. He’s definitely a dog that likes to run and would do well with either another dog in the house to let some energy out an active family who enjoys running and/or hiking. He hangs out in my husband’s home office for parts of the day and just likes to chill. He’s been great on outings to local spots and hasn’t shown any shyness with strangers. He LOVES car rides and lays down immediately. Overall he’s s really easy, great dog!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
