My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Betty was brought in by a community member on November 4th, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Betty! Betty's the kind of gal who's always up for a car ride and ready to explore the world by your side. She's a sweet snugglebug who leans right into pets and loves being part of the action. If a stranger approaches a little too quickly, she might give a friendly bark just to make sure everything's cool - she takes her job as lookout seriously! While in her foster home Betty has not had any potty accidents, she sleeps through the night and is as quiet as a mouse! Her favorite thing to do is lay next to your feet while you work. Betty does have a few fractured teeth that will need some attention, but she's otherwise happy, loving, and ready to find her new home. Ready to add a little sunshine (and a lot of love) to your life? Betty's waiting to meet you!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
