My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi friends! I’m Guida, a gentle 13-year-old Shih Tzu girl and 10lbs of pure sweetness! And guess what? It’s Adopt-a-Senior Dog Month, which means it’s the perfect time for me to find my forever home!

My story isn’t the happiest – I ended up at a local shelter, and honestly, shelters are no place for a senior girl like me. But now I’m safe with Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue, and I’m ready to find a family who will love me for exactly who I am!

Here’s what you should know about me: I LOVE treats! I’ve got a great appetite and I’m a total foodie. I sleep in my own cozy dog bed near the people bed because I like being close to my humans. I have limited vision, which is pretty normal for a lady my age, but I’m a champ about taking my eye drops and ear drops – no drama here! 👀

I’m more of a reserved girl than a cuddly one, but I absolutely love getting pets when I’m in the mood! I’m house trained, I get along wonderfully with other dogs, and I’d probably do well with older, dog-savvy children. Cats are a mystery to me since I’ve never met one!

At 13 years old, I may be a senior, but I’ve still got so much love to give! I’m absolutely adorable (if I do say so myself), and I’m just waiting for someone to see how special I am!

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
