Hello there! My name is Sabrina, and I’m an 8-year-old beautiful Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel girl with gorgeous chestnut fur that shines in the sunlight. At just 11 pounds, I may be petite, but my personality is larger than life! I’m one of the Coastal Cavaliers who was rescued from a difficult breeding situation, and like many dogs who come from those circumstances, I’m still learning what it means to be a beloved family pet. Dogs like me need a little extra time and patience to build trust and confidence, but I promise I’m worth every moment you work with me!
What I may lack in street smarts, I make up for in pure love and affection. I absolutely adore attention and I’m not shy about asking for it – especially if I notice you’re giving love to another dog! I’ll gently push my way right in between you because, well, shouldn’t all the attention be on me? I’m a true lap dog who would be perfectly content spending my days snuggled up with my favorite person. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and would actually do best in a home with a canine sibling who can help show me the ropes of family living and boost my confidence along the way.
I’m working hard on my potty training and doing really well when I’m taken outside on a regular schedule – my new family will just need to keep up the consistent routine I’ve been learning. Since I’m so petite and still building my confidence, I’d do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to be gentle with small dogs like me. I have excellent house manners and once I have house breaking down, my foster Mom said I can have free roam of the house.
I am learning how wonderful it is to be out in the sunshine and feel grass beneath my paws. I have never walked on a leash but I know I can learn and look forward to working on that skill with my new family.
Right now, I share my crate at night with my foster sister Jenny, who came into rescue with me, and we’re quite the cozy pair! I’m looking for a patient, loving family who will continue my training and help me become the confident, well-mannered little lady I know I can be.
Is that YOU? I hope so…please apply to adopt me. You can find the application on the rescue website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. ADOPTION FEE: $350.00
