My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reed’s Compatibility:
Dogs - Yes, meet & greet
Cats - Not for Reed
Kids - Yes

Reed is a dark chocolate-colored cutie with freckles on his nose and paws. This friendly boy enjoys getting attention and pets from anyone he meets. He has a history of being housebroken, is crate-trained, and he’s a built-in road trip buddy who enjoys car rides. He knows ‘Sit.’ He walks well on a leash and doesn’t seem to mind other dogs or people while out walking. He really enjoys going for walks on our trail, with lots of different scents and sights to explore!

He loves to play with toys; tennis balls are his favorite, and stuffies are a close second. He’ll either play with you, or he’ll keep himself occupied by throwing and chasing toys all on his own. He also likes to chew on bones and snack on treats. He’s a great mix of affectionate and independent – he likes being near you and enjoys some pets before wandering off to do his own thing.

Reed is great with kids, and has lived with dogs in the past with no issues, so bring your dogs in to meet him. He confuses cats for squirrels and he wants to chase them, so no kitties for this guy. Come in and ask to meet Reed to see how this fun and easygoing boy will make you smile!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
