My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Whalebert`s Compatibility:
Dogs - Yes
Cats - TBD
Kids - Yes, great with kids!

Whalebert is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his name. He came to HSHC after being hit by a car and is bouncing back beautifully, with no broken bones and a sunny attitude.

He’s already making himself at home in foster, showing off his sweet, calm nature. He loves kids, enjoys snuggles, and knows just how to balance affection with independence. He’ll happily nap beside you or retreat to his cozy spot when it’s time for some alone time. Whalebert takes his meds without fuss, joins in on the fun when playtime calls, and has a comforting presence every family needs.

Whalebert is ready for a forever home where he can continue his recovery surrounded by love, patience, and a little extra attention. Come meet him and see how quickly he can win your heart!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
