My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Box was brought in by a community member.

Why Box might be the one for you:
If Box could speak, he probably would have lots of stories. He can't speak human but you can tell by looking at him that he is a dog who is ready for a good home. The two words that describe Box with us are calm and chill. He sits patiently at his kennel front waiting for his person to take him out. He does a little pitter patter with his paws which makes us smile. He walks super well and ignores other dogs and animals. As we said, he is super chill about life. He enjoys people and solicits their attention. As chill as he is, he will need plenty of physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep him happy and balanced. A consistent routine and fun, enriching activities will help Box get used to his new home and feel like part of his family! If you'd like to learn more about this chill guy, come visit us at the San Diego Campus

At SDHS:
Box has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Box is now ready for his new home and new family!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
