Otto is a four-year-old, 80-pound German Shepherd whose journey has been anything but easy. He was found several years ago in one of our partner’s warehouses, malnourished and surviving on garbage. Despite his rough start, Otto showed incredible resilience and strength. Once at Home Fur Good, it became clear that he needed emergency surgery, which likely saved his life. After recovering in a medical foster home, Otto was adopted by his foster, but sadly, due to health issues, they can no longer care for him.
Otto is intelligent, loyal, and eager to please, but his past has left him with some reactivity. He has worked extensively with trainer Jereme Paddock of Paddock’s Paws and completed a board-and-train program, learning many valuable skills. Otto would thrive in a calm, structured environment with an experienced adopter who understands reactive dogs and is committed to continuing his training.
He’s a very good boy who already knows so much. He just needs someone patient and dedicated to help him feel safe and confident. Otto’s loyal heart is waiting for the person who will see beyond his challenges and give him the stable, loving home he’s always deserved. With time, guidance, and love, Otto will be a steadfast and devoted companion.
Otto’s adoption fee of $250 covers essential services such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
Please don't hesitate to schedule an appointment to meet Otto by calling 602-971-1334. You can also visit us Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm when we are open for walk-ins.

Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

More about this rescue
Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
