Double the love, double the joy! Pixie and Maple are a wonderful bonded pair looking for a new beginning together. Pixie is a six-year-old, 50-pound American Pit Bull Terrier mix, and Maple is a four-year-old, 81-pound APBT mix. These two best friends share a deep bond and bring out the best in each other.
Pixie originally came to Home Fur Good in 2020 and was adopted into a loving home. Unfortunately, when her family’s circumstances changed, a new child with severe allergies, they heartbreakingly had to return her. Because Pixie and Maple were inseparable, we welcomed them both back. Their previous family described them as “the best dogs they ever had,” and it’s easy to see why!
Pixie and Maple are affectionate, loyal, and playful. They love spending time together in the yards and are always ready for companionship and playtime. Both dogs are said to be great with kids, cats, and other dogs. They’re a perfect fit for a family that enjoys having a multidog household. Both girls have had some training and walk nicely on a leash.
Pixie and Maple’s $400 adoption fee for the bonded pair includes their spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Home Fur Good has trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$300 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and vet checked.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
