My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Timber!

SEE STRAYCATION UPDATE BELOW! ZERO APPS FOR THIS AMAZING BOY!

There's a reason we call this handsome hunk Timber! Everyone he meets falls for him! Timber is a one-year-old, 57-pound shepherd/black-mouth cur mix who happens to be the sweetest boy in town!

Timber enjoyed a brief straycation with one of our volunteers and boy did he impress! House-trained and crate-trained, Timber was the ultimate houseguest. He spent time hanging with the family dog and the two of them did amazing together. Timber will make and excellent pal for your family fur baby! He even hung out with the family cat and while he was interested her was respectful. We feel he could do well with a dog-savvy feline friend!

Timber is a very smart fellow who already knows sit and is learning even more. He is very food-motivated. He likes all sorts of treats and is a fan of rope toys and tennis balls. His foster family was able to take away food/toys with no issue. He will benefit from continued training, daily exercise, and a yard to enjoy in his new home. He has great recall redirects easily. He will be the best companion for one lucky family!

Timber had a blast at the Lake Orion Light Parade and did very well meeting all sorts of new friends! He is great on leash and excellent in the car as well! Timber is very tolerant and doesn't hesitate to lean in close for all the cuddles you can handle. His curiosity and attentiveness are just two of the many things to love about Timber! He even does great during bath time. At the end of the day, he slept quietly through the night in his crate.

Based on our evaluation, we feel Timber will do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. We feel he has the capability to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby.

If you think he sounds like the guy you've been searching for, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our terrific Timber!
