DOG TEST: (Okay with Dogs) Brandi is a high energy pup that would do best in a home with other high energy dogs!
CAT TEST: (Okay with Cats) Brandi seems to do okay with cats and would be good in a home with them under supervison.
KID TEST: (Okay with Kids) Brandi seems like she would do best with older kids due to her energy level and tendancy to jump. HOUSE BROKEN: (Potty Trained) Brandi seems to be potty trained here at the shetler. ENERGY LEVEL: (High) Brandi love to run! This girl has zoomies for days and never gets tired of exploring the outdoors. Brandi would thrive in an active household that can take her on tons of walks and adventures. Once shes all tuckered out, Brandi would love to snuggle up by your side with her favorite toy.
LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) Brandi is eager to go on walks and can get excited zoomies while on the leash! KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (No) Drop (No)

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

More about this shelter
We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
