Saffron is a lovable 3-year-old American Pitbull Terrier with a gorgeous gray-and-white coat and the sweetest smile you’ll ever see. This beautiful girl is a total people-lover—she absolutely lights up when meeting new friends and is happiest when she’s soaking up all the love and attention from her humans.
Saffron is great in the car and makes a wonderful adventure buddy. She knows how to sit for treats, though she can get a little extra enthusiastic about them—something a little practice will easily polish up. She’s also famous for her adorable butt-tuck zoomies that are guaranteed to make you laugh. While she’s typically not a jumper, her silly bursts of excitement show just how much joy she has to share. When she’s ready to relax, Saffron loves flopping over for belly rubs and will happily soak them up as long as you’re willing to give them.
This happy girl loves going for walks, though she can pull on the leash, so she does best when walked on a harness. When it comes to other dogs, Saffron isn’t a big fan. She may do okay with a calm, respectful dog, but a meet and greet is required to ensure a good match. She’d also be perfectly content being your one-and-only, soaking up all the love for herself.
Medical Note: Saffron is heartworm positive, but her treatment is being fully handled by The Colony Animal Services. Her treatment is nearly complete, and she is currently on crate rest for the next 30 days to finish healing strong.
With her joyful personality, affectionate nature, and infectious smile, Saffron is ready to brighten someone’s life. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you laughing, cuddling, and feeling loved, Saffron is ready to be your girl!

More about this shelter
The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.
Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.
Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
