My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: MA

River is a 1-3 yr old female blue heeler mix who will be spayed before adoption. She was recently a mom to a litter of seven puppies whom are all being adopted soon. So now it’s time to find momma her forever home.

She is very lovable but she is also protective of her home so we do not recommend a home where strangers are coming and going.

She is ok with dogs if you introduce her slowly, this may change once her last pup leaves and she is no longer a momma. She came to me with a lot of good scars on her face. She was living with her owner in a car with 5 other dogs.

She knows commands but due to her previous living situation she needs some one in one obedience training.. She is vert smart. She is known to escape so leaving her alone will need some planning. She has been good with the foster kids. Males dogs she is better.

This poor girl has been through a lot and she has the potential to be a good dog she needs a home with lots of one in one attention and fun exciting treat training

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
