My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Alden, and here’s a little more about me:

My Journey
I started out as a community cat, but it didn’t take long for everyone to realize I was far too sweet to stay outside. I was brought into Smittens, and now I’m excitedly embracing the indoor life—complete with comfy beds, endless affection, and lots of fun.

My Social Life
Other cats: I may enjoy playful feline companions who can keep up with my energy.
Dogs: I haven’t met dogs yet, but with calm introductions, I might adjust.
Kids: I’d do best with older, cat-savvy humans who understand excitement can sometimes get the best of me.

My Personality
Bold, affectionate, and hilariously intense about love. I’m aggressively snuggly and will happily push my way into pets—sometimes even petting you back! I’m vocal when I want attention and always ready to be involved. I have tons of energy, am an excellent jumper, and bring a lot of fun wherever I go.

I Enjoy…
Snuggling (the closer, the better!)
Belly scratches (in moderation)
Being talked to and talking right back
Jumping, climbing, and active play
Soaking up all the perks of indoor life

I’m Not a Fan Of…
I can get overstimulated when I’m very excited and may nip during play or petting—not out of aggression, just enthusiasm. I do best when my cues are noticed and playtime is balanced with breaks.

What Makes Me Special
My intense affection, expressive personality, and adorably unique eyes make me unforgettable. I’m equal parts cuddle monster and energetic athlete, with a heart full of love.

My Perfect Home
I’d thrive in a home that’s ready for an active, affectionate young cat—one that enjoys interactive play, lots of cuddles, and understands excited kittens need guidance and enrichment. I’m eager to share my big personality with the right family.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
