My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Jackson and here is a little more about me:

My Journey
I’m a handsome one-year-old boy who was recently rescued and given the chance to experience indoor life. Everything is still pretty new to me, so I’m learning that couches, cozy beds, and steady meals are actually amazing. I may need a little time to fully adjust, but I’m already showing what a loving companion I am.

My Social Life
I’m a friendly guy who enjoys human company. As I continue settling in, my confidence grows more each day. With proper introductions and patience, I would likely adapt well to a home ready to support my transition indoors.

My Personality
Super cuddly, gentle, and affectionate.
When I first arrive somewhere new, I may tuck myself under my bedding to feel safe. But once I realize I’m secure, I blossom into a total love bug. I genuinely want attention and connection — I just need a moment to feel comfortable first.
I bond deeply and love being close to my people.

I Enjoy…
Cozy hiding spots that help me feel secure
Gentle pets and calm affection
Snuggle sessions once I’ve warmed up
Quiet companionship near my favorite human
Once I’m comfortable, I’m all about cuddles and closeness.

I’m Not a Fan Of…
Sudden changes and brand-new environments can feel overwhelming at first. I just need a little patience while I acclimate — I promise it’s worth it.

What Makes Me Special
I’m a striking black-and-white medium-haired gentleman with big golden-yellow eyes and the sweetest pink nose. My soulful gaze paired with my affectionate nature makes me impossible to resist.

My Perfect Home
I would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands I may need a little time to fully settle in. Once I feel safe, I become incredibly loving and devoted.
A home that offers:
Gentle introductions and a quiet space to decompress
Lots of affection once I’m ready
Understanding during my adjustment period
If you’re looking for a soft, handsome cuddle companion who just needs a little time to shine, I’m ready to find my forever home.

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
