Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Joaquin and I'm at the Santa Barbara Campus. I'm a 2 year old male Black Labrador Retriever Mix who is eager for a new home!
Joaquin hasn't had the easiest upbringing. He came from a situation where he didn't get the medical care, training, or attention he deserved- but he's ready to leave all that behind and start fresh with someone who sees how special he is. Speaking of seeing... Joaquin had to have one of his eyes removed due to an injury that was left untreated but don't worry, that just makes him half pirate, half pup, all heart. And don't think that doesn't mean he can't see the treats coming! He has trained his remaining eye to focus with laser precision to look out for snacks! Joaquin is an energetic, goofy guy who's still 'learning how to dog'. Since he never got the proper training, he's starting from scratch and would thrive in a home with someone who's excited to teach him basic manners, socialize with other dogs, and guide him to become the best version of himself! After spending his life outdoors (the stress has quite aged him), Joaquin is ready to discover the joy of a real home: a warm bed, belly rubs on the couch, and next to people who will cherish him and do right by him. Can you be his forever?
Interested in meeting me? Adoption Centers are open daily 12-4:30pm, closed Wednesdays. Adoptions are on a first-come first served basis. For more information please email Adopt@SBHumane.org or call 805-964-4777.
When I am adopted, I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adopters will receive a certificate for a free veterinary exam and our partners at Hills will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission!
