Meet Daisy! She came to the shelter with her sister, Poppy - keep reading to learn more about them!
These two sisters are 2-year-old Shepherd and Pitbull mixes who came to the shelter due to their owners` living situation. They grew up in a home with other dogs, young children, and lots of time to explore outside. They love to get out for walks and receive lots of pets from our staff. While they would love to go to a home together, shelter testing has shown they would also do just fine in separate homes! Daisy and Poppy get along well, but we would ask that if you have a dog at home, you bring them in for a meet-and-greet. Daisy and Poppy were fully potty trained in their previous home. They love their people so much that they do get a little anxious when left home alone.
Daisy & Poppy are spayed, microchipped, and up to date on their vaccines. You can visit them at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.
The Babinski Foundation is a private 501c3 animal shelter located in Pequot Lakes, MN. We are a safe place to surrender dogs and cats. We also are a stray drop-off facility for stray cats and dogs.
OUR STORY
The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
