My name is Rocko!

Meet Rocko — the big-hearted gentleman with floppy ears, kind eyes, and so much love to give. ❤️

At around 9 years old and approximately 65 pounds, Rocko is a stunning mixed breed who looks like the perfect blend of Plott Hound and Chocolate Lab. His sleek, dark coat, soft floppy ears, and soulful eyes tell the story of a dog who’s known love — and who’s ready to find it again. Though technically a senior, Rocko moves with the ease and energy of a much younger dog. He has plenty of adventures, walks, and snuggles left in him, and he’s determined to make the most of every one.

Rocko’s story is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. He was surrendered to a county shelter by the only family he’d ever known after they moved away. He waited, confused and heartbroken, in a place that’s especially hard on senior dogs. When The Misfit Ranch heard about him, we knew we couldn’t let such a wonderful boy fade into the background — so we brought him into our care to give him a second chance at a forever family (for real this time).

And what a reward it’s been! Rocko is the perfect companion — calm, affectionate, and endlessly loyal. He’s fantastic with people, gentle with kids, and gets along beautifully with medium and large dogs. He’s not a fan of little dogs, so he’ll do best in a home without the tiny ones — but with dogs his own size, he’s a total gentleman. He’s already house-trained and crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is content to curl up beside you after a stroll. No chaos, no puppy teething — just a big-hearted boy who wants to be near his people.

Rocko loves his walks, his belly rubs, and any chance to lean in close for pets. When you look into his kind eyes, you’ll see gratitude, trust, and the quiet hope of a dog who still believes in forever.
