Meet Shana – Our Brave Little Tripod Princess
Shana is a young, spirited girl who hasn’t let the loss of her front leg slow her down. She’s incredibly brave, active, and an absolute delight to be around. She hops confidently on her back legs, loves to play, adores her toys, and is happy to share her love with people and animals alike.
Shana has her preferences—she enjoys eating and sleeping on her own, and she takes things slowly in wet or snowy weather to avoid slipping. She’s not the biggest fan of being outdoors in bad weather, but who can blame her?
She is fully housetrained and crate trained. When left alone, Shana should be kept in her crate for her safety and comfort, and she happily uses it for the occasional cozy nap too.
Shana’s leash skills are still a work in progress. She doesn’t love having the leash put on but is fine once it’s clipped. She does pull, but with gentle reminders and clear direction, she responds well.
She’s great with other animals: Ignores indoor birds. Doesn’t chase chickens, goats, or pigs. Loves other dogs, though she may need a few minutes to warm up Likes cats, though she will join in if they initiate a chase game
With people, she may bark at strangers at first, but she settles quickly once she knows them. She’s also very good in the car. Shana can thrive in a house or an apartment. Stairs are manageable but she takes them slowly.
Above all, Shana is a fun-loving, joyful, and sweet girl with the most beautiful, soulful eyes. She just wants to play, be loved, and enjoy life—with plenty of toys and bones to keep her happy.
Shana is ready for her forever home, where she’ll be cherished for the brave, bright, big-hearted girl she is.

NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.
BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
