My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SUPER SWEET, PEOPLE DOG:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 42 lbs.

Hi, my name’s Caroline!  I was with Mostly Mutts in early 2024 and was adopted for almost 2 years, but my family has fallen on some unusual times and no longer has the time to give me that I deserve.  So, I’m back at Mostly Mutts looking for my furever home.  I’m doing so well here and love everyone I’ve met, but nothing will beat having a family of my own.  I have noticeable scars on my head and body which are likely from being caught in a fence.  They don’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind them either.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with the male dogs, but not too sure about the female dogs.  I’ll be retested soon with female dogs, so if you have a nice male doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I wasn’t around kids in my previous home, but I met kids at Mostly Mutts when I was with them in 2024 (age 10+) and did well with them, so kids around that age or older may be nice in my new home, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Everyone I’ve met just loves me and I’ve been described as a well-adjusted sweetheart that is loving and friendly – and I’m ready to be a lucky family’s wonderful companion!  They also say that I’m one of the best dogs they have met!  I was calm and adorable for my shelter bath and have the most beautiful eyes that seem to show real appreciation for the care I am receiving.  Playful and attentive to people, I’m looking forward to bringing lots of joy to my new family! / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. In my former home I loved sleeping in a dog bed beside my people’s bed, and I did alright in a crate, but didn’t love it and was fine without a crate. / I did well with my potty manners on a good schedule in my former home and liked receiving a treat once I finished my business.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love sitting with and spending time with the nice volunteers at the shelter.  I also love lying in the sun and running around in the fenced yard with my family.  I like toys, so I know we could have some great play sessions together. / I get a little anxious when riding in the car, but it’s not too bad and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I’m on an allergy medication called Zenrelia and I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I am looking for a loving home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
