My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

VERY SWEET & A LITTLE SHY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 30 lbs.

Hi, my name is Emily!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful to be on the journey to my new home with their help. I’m currently getting to spend some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but I did live with a little dog prior to coming to Mostly Mutts and we got along well and enjoyed napping together in little dog beds, so if you have a nice dog already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I can be shy initially, but I warm up to people given some time, a calm voice and slower movements. Once comfortable, I am a real sweetheart.  My lovable face is sure to charm you.  In fact, I was the ‘quintessential bather’ according to the volunteer who gives us our shelter baths.  I was calm, relaxed and content with it all – shampoo, rinse and ear cleaning.  They call me a ‘gentle gem’, and I bet you will agree when you experience my sweet and loving nature. / My energy level 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  Check back soon to see what I have mastered. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy spending time with people once I know you are my friend. Toys are fun, and you will smile when you see my playful side.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together. / New situations can be stressful for me, so I would not want to be rushed as I get used to my new home.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a great home where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
