Found wandering at a gas station in San Antonio, Texas with a rope tied around his neck creating an open wound in October 2024.
Buddy is a sweet puppy who gets excited when he hears his name. He's a lover who wants to love on everyone he meets. He wants to please and knows "no." Good with dogs but matches energy and behavior so not the best with ill behaved dogs. Crate trained.
Buddy has already made his way up from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver!
Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.
Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.

Submit foster application if you only wish to foster, and an adoption application if you wish to adopt or foster with the intent of adoption

After your app is submitted, we will reach out to have a conversation and schedule a time for you to meet the pet
Approve Application
If you decide to move forward after the meet and greet we will officially approve your application
Take the Pet Home
After your app is approved, we will complete foster or adoption paperwork and you will take the pet home
