My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET BUNDLE OF ENERGY:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 24 lbs.

Hello – I’m Ember!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so grateful they are going to help me on my journey to my new home.  The volunteers see to it that I get lots of love, walks and attention and I can’t wait to share that love with my new family!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot, then I was adopted for a little while, but it wasn’t a good fit, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for my new furever home!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and really loved playing with them.  I’m an enthusiastic player and can be a lot, so if you have a nice doggie at home that sounds like we could be playmates, let’s meet and see if we can be pals!  My meetings can look a little reactive, but our trainer can help with introductions. / My former family reported that I should not live with cats. / I met kids that were 8 and 10 years old and I was jumpy with them, and liked them, so if you have kids around these ages or older let’s meet!  Kids will also need to use caution around doors as I do like to run out of doors, and I don’t want to get lost or hurt.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super sweet boy with a loving and happy demeanor.  I was wonderful during my shelter bath and just wanted to offer up kisses and be loved.  It was a nice break, which allowed me to find my ‘inner calm’.  I am super fun with GREAT jumping and running skills.  In fact, I can jump so high, I should not be left unattended in the yard.  Bounce, bounce and then I could be gone!  My fun and active personality as well as sweet smiles are sure to melt your heart! / My energy level is quite high at 7-8 so I’ll want mental stimulation and a good bit of exercise with my new family – need an exercise or perhaps agility buddy?

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette (though this one can be hard for me to remember when I’m tempted to run out a door - and I run like a Husky) and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  In fact - with my smarts and jumping skills - the volunteers think I would be a good agility training candidate! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My former family reported that I had good potty manners while I was with them, I’ve had some accidents on the shelter schedule – perhaps I need to go out a bit more often than the shelter schedule allows.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy being active with people and love a good play session with toys.  My affectionate nature has me seeking out love in exchange for kisses and smiles.  As mentioned, I am pretty agile, so I bet we both would enjoy fun agility-type training! / I can’t think of any dislikes, other than not getting enough mental stimulation and exercise and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
