My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A LOVELY & SWEET GIRL:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 29 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Tatum!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family to adopt me.  I’m in a wonderful foster home while I wait and I’m feeling grateful, hopeful, and excited for this new chapter!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and wasn’t quite ready to play with them, though I didn’t show any aggression, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I may look like a wirehaired dog, but I’m actually very soft to the touch.  I’m described as a friendly, sweet, gentle, and affectionate girl with a curious and calm nature, and I was delightful during my bath at the shelter.  I came in a bit shy, but have grown and opened up in my foster home.  I may bark at strangers while out on walks with my foster, but if someone comes up to say hello, I’ve been happy to accept pets and wag my tail – though I appreciate that they don’t touch my hind quarters until I get to know them. / Energy level: 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I showed that I know the ‘sit’ command when I was at the shelter and I’m sure you can teach me lots more! / I did well in my crate when I was at Mostly Mutts and I haven’t used a crate in my foster home.  I sleep on my fosters’ bed, and I stay in my fosters’ bedroom when they are away.  I’ve been good so far and haven’t chewed anything when left alone out of the crate, so perhaps I won’t need one. / I’m doing well with my potty manners in my foster home with only 1 accident and did the same when I was at the shelter.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love cuddling and just spending time with my people, going for walks, and playing with toys - they’re some of my favorite things to do.  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we’ll enjoy doing together once I’m settled in my new home. / I don’t like being petted near my backside by people I’ve just met, and like any dog, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I’m a sweet girl looking for a great furever home!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
