History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own!
A Note from the Foster: This handsome bundle of joy is Ody (short for Odysseus), and he’s ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick! At just 6 months old and around 45 pounds, Ody is full of puppy enthusiasm and love for life. He’s super friendly and greets everyone like an old friend—with plenty of kisses, cuddles, and tail wags. If you’re looking for a dog who always wants to be by your side, Ody’s your guy.
Ody loves to play! Whether it’s chasing after a ball, shredding his toys, or working on a new chew, this pup knows how to keep himself entertained. He’s still teething, so having plenty of chew toys around is a must. Ody is mostly potty trained—he’s learning to signal when it’s time to go outside, though he might have a small accident if we miss his cues.
He’s also learning that being in his kennel means rest time. At first, he doesn’t like being separated from his person, but he usually settles down after a few minutes once he knows it’s bedtime. He’s a quick learner and eager to please—in just three days, he’s already mastered “sit” and “lay down” for treats!
Because Ody has a high prey drive, he might do best in a home without smaller pets unless his new family is ready to work patiently on desensitizing him. He’s a bright, affectionate pup who’s looking for a family that can guide him with love, structure, and consistency. With the right people, Ody will grow into an incredible companion—loyal, loving, and always up for an adventure.
