Meet Butter Pecan! This sweet 33lb, 10-month-old Lab/Jack Russell Terrier mix is as friendly as they come. Butter Pecan has yet to meet a stranger—every new person is just another opportunity for him to share his happy wiggles and big puppy smile. Here at the shelter, Butter Pecan has shown interest in other dogs and seems dog-friendly, even though he hasn’t had direct playtime yet. Although, we are unsure if he gets along with cats since they are housed in separate areas in the building. Butter Pecan is still a young pup, so he’s learning the ropes and would love a family who can guide him through training, routine, and lots of love. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
