My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scottie is a wonderfully affectionate and intelligent 1-year-old, 45-pound Terrier mix who is so ready for a new start! She`s a lovey girl who enjoys cuddling and would love to sleep right in the bed with you. Beyond her sweet nature, Scottie is a smart cookie who is already potty trained, kennel trained, and knows a bunch of commands, including sit, stay, down, and come.

This active girl thrives when she`s properly exercised. Her favorite games are fetch and tug, and she loves riding in the passenger seat for car rides. Scottie does well with cats, but she needs to be the only canine in the home as she is sometimes uncomfortable around other dogs. Her ideal person will be an experienced owner committed to helping manage some resource guarding tendencies.

One last thing! Scottie is reportedly afraid of the dark (can`t blame her), so a warm and light home will be her perfect refuge.

Scottie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
