Meet Jonas — a gentle, resilient 1.5-year-old, 35-lb sweetheart who’s looking for a loving home.
Jonas is a truly special dog whose heart is overflowing with love. Despite being neglected and starved by the people who were supposed to care for him — left chained outside without compassion — Jonas never lost his sweetness. He just adores people, and his ability to trust and love after everything he endured is remarkable.
A kind woman stepped in when she saw his condition and rescued him, bringing him to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. There, Jonas received the medical care and slowly gained weight and strength.
Today, Jonas is a grateful, affectionate companion. He follows his caretakers around, gently placing his head in their laps with those beautiful eyes that radiate tenderness and gratitude.
We would love to find Jonas his forever home — or a foster-to-adopt home — in New York for our next transport on December 9th. His ticket is ready; he’s simply waiting for his person.
Jonas is great with other dogs and gentle with cats. He walks beautifully on a leash — he practically flies beside you — with no training! He is smart, eager to please, and deeply connected to the people who care for him.
