Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🌸 Ruby – Looking for a Calm, Dog-Free Kingdom to Rule 🌸 Currently in Foster – Now Available for Adoption Through DeKalb Humane Society 👉 To be considered, please fill out our application at dekalbhumanesociety.org
Ruby is a 5-year-old French Bulldog who has mastered the art of belly rub requests and loyal companionship. With her adorable white coat and tan spots, she’s not just cute—she’s committed. Ruby is housetrained, crate trained (she even rings the bells to go out!), and she loves car rides, deck lounging, and being her human’s shadow.
She knows “time for bed,” likes to carry her favorite bone around the house, and will follow you from room to room like a devoted (and slightly snorty) sidekick.
But—this is important—Ruby needs to be the only animal in the home. She does not want to share her humans. She’s shown clear discomfort and aggression toward other pets when she’s receiving attention. She also must be supervised around small children; while she hasn’t bitten anyone, she will jump or react if she’s feeling overstimulated.
🐾 Ruby's Ideal Home
No other dogs or cats
No small children
Calm, structured environment
Someone who understands “only dog” boundaries and will give her the love she craves
She is spayed, current on vaccines, and has no known medical issues.
📌 NOTE: Ruby is currently in foster care, but is available for adoption through DeKalb Humane Society. Her current placement isn’t the right long-term fit, so we are looking for a better match.
📋 Interested? Fill out our adoption application at dekalbhumanesociety.org. Be sure to note you’re interested in Ruby! Approved applicants will be contacted to set up a meet and greet.
Let’s get Ruby into the peaceful home she deserves. 💕An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice. Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.
